Deposit paid by deferred offer holders to secure their offer in the new academic cycle.
Deposit paid by deferred offer holders to secure their offer in the new academic cycle. The amount is then offset against tuition fees. This counts as an early payment, and therefore attracts the Early Payment Reward. Please note that the exact terms of the Early Payment Reward are not agreed until February, but you can see last year's arrangements as an indication of how it works.
The deadline for submitting the payment is 31 January in the year of entry. The deposit is not refundable after this date. If you make the payment and then do not attend LSE, the money is transferred to the student hardship fund. Full terms and conditions are at http://www2.lse.ac.uk/study/graduate/applicant/howDoI/deferralDepositPayment/deferralDepositPayment.aspx
If you are concerned that you may be unable to take up your deferred offer (for example if you are wholly reliant on funding which has not yet been confirmed), you may prefer to reinstate your application to be considered alongside the new cohort of applicants. Whilst this does not guarantee your offer in the same way, experience has shown that you are very likely to be made an offer in the new admissions cycle.
If you have any questions regarding your deferral, please contact us.
